Cybersafety Resources for Parents

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference released a Pastoral Letter on Internet Safety in 2008. The Pastoral Letter was published as a response to concerns around the safety of children in an increasingly expanding on-line world.

The Pastoral Letter on Internet Safety is supported by a short Youtube Movie.
It is important that we acknowledge that threats to our safety, human dignity, and relationships with others and with God can manifest themselves within the digitally connected world of the 21st Century.

Some of these threats include the following:

Unwelcome Websites

Stranger Danger

Cyber-bullying

Financial Exploitation

Unlawful Use

This website provides advice for parents around how to assist their children to stay safe on-line. Additional information around social networking, what to do when …., and some important contact details are provided for your information.

NOTE: It is suggested that parents preview all videos to ensure they are suitable for the age of their children.
We would like to acknowledge the great assistance and guidance provided by Mr John Hession, Education Officer, Diocese of Broken Bay in the development of this resource for our parents.
